About the Role
- B.S. or M.S. degree, and 1+ years of hands-on laboratory experience in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or Biophysics
- Knowledge of cell and molecular biology techniques that may include: immunohistochemistry, cell culture, cloning, viral transduction, stable cell line generation, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, reporter assays, FRET, ELISA, PPI assays, qRT-PCR, Western Blotting, ChIP and CRISPR
- Data analysis using software such as GraphPad Prism or Spotfire
- Strong organizational skills to design, perform, track and interpret experiments
- Highly self-motivated, curious, fast learner, flexible and innovative
- Excellent teammate with strong oral and written communication skills
Requirements
Desirable requirements:
- Experience with automation and small molecule screening
- Experience with signal transduction, compound MOA study, primary cell and organoid culture, and mouse models
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute cell and molecular biology experiments, interpret and challenge results, and generate new hypotheses
- Develop disease-relevant biochemical/biophysical/cellular assays and perform mechanistic studies to characterize small molecule and biologics
- Perform mechanistic studies to characterize drug candidates using cellular biology, genetics, and molecular biology approaches
- Utilization of in vitro reactions, cell-based assays and/or various model organisms in the pursuit and characterization of novel targets
- Assess and implement new technologies and novel assays
- Report and present results of studies and make recommendations to scientific leaders in a timely, detailed, and coherent manner.
- Work in interdisciplinary teams to share expertise and collaborate toward shared goals
